The JMF operates at two locations:

Our laboratories for clinical sample processing are located in the Allgemeines Krankenhaus (AKH) Vienna, within the Department for Clinical Microbiology (5P).

Our laboratories for environmental sample processing and methods development are located in the University Biology Building (UBB), within the Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science (2nd floor).

Both laboratories are equipped for standard molecular biological work (e.g., clean benches, thermocyclers, incubators, thermoshakers) and additionally host specialized equipment for nucleic acids extraction, quantification, quality control, and sequencing.

Following specialized equipment is available to MUW/UV researchers upon request:

• VIAFLO 96 Electronic Pipettes
